Georgian folk songs are not sung in one voice. The song needs at least three men or women – the first voice, the second and the bass.

Descriptive Daily Itinerary:
Arrive Tbilisi Rustaveli International Airport. Transfer to the hotel.
Today we are going to Kakheti. Kakheti is an indigenous region of Georgia. It is outstanding with its hospitality, extraordinary natural wine and rare polyphony.
First of all we are going to Telavi, Kakheti’s capital. This is a small, beautiful and cozy city where a very loyal people with a big sense of humor live. We will see the city and visit to the local market. You should definitely understand how people live and then you will feel the Georgian folk songs with your heart.
After the market we will go to a host family where a song teacher will be waiting for us. A professional singer will teach you one of the unique Georgian polyphonic songs, “Shen khar venakhi”.
Today we will visit the city of love. No one wants to leave Georgia without visiting Signagi.
For the first time we will go to Bodbe Nunnery. The nunnery is one of the holiest places in Georgia. Here is a tomb of saint Nino – woman who preached Christianity in Georgia at the beginning of the fourth century. Bodbe Nunnery is a cozy and quiet place, unforgettable for its beauty. There is a wide look-out point near the main church which provides an amazing view of Alazani Valley and Caucasus Mountains.
After visiting Bodbe we’ll proceed to Signagi. This beautiful 18th century city fascinates visitors by its architecture, wooden balconies, narrow streets and beautiful views. Here the singer ladies are waiting for us. They will teach you the song “Tushuri”, typical for the mountainous part of Georgia.
In the evening we will have a Georgian feast. We’ll have guests – Georgian singers who will sing songs with you. Traditionally we will choose Tamada, who will guide the table.
Delicious and rich Georgian cuisine, Tamada, good Georgian wine and folk songs. What should be better than this?
Today we have a day of wine and culinary. We will visit local wine-restaurant and taste Georgian wines as well as participate in Georgian bread baking, in the preparation of Khinkali(meat dumplings) and Churchkhela(Georgian desert made of grape juice and walnuts). Then we’ll taste the food prepared by you.

Tbilisi is a must see city. If you want to feel the city’s heartbeat, you should wander in narrow streets and enjoy the eclectic sights ranging from churches to synagogue, mosque, old houses with wooden carved balconies, old baths using the sulfur spring water, Art-Nuevo and Moorish style buildings.
The city tour will include the Metekhi Plateau and the church, Sulfur baths, Narikala fortress, Sharden street, Sioni Cathedral, modern Bridge of Piece.
Today you will have a delicious Georgian dinner with folk show.
Today we will visit Georgia’s ancient capital, Mtskheta. We will visit UNESCO monuments, Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. The Jvari church is located on the top of the mountain, as if it was raised from the mountain. Svetitskhoveli is located in the center of Mtskheta. Both temples are important examples of Georgian architecture.
You will have a free time. There is nothing more pleasant than walking in old streets of Mtskheta. Also, you can buy many souvenirs there.
We’ll move to western Georgian region Imereti. Nature is very beautiful here, people are sweet and hospitable. We are in Kutaisi, the capital of Imereti. After sightseeing tour from the car we’ll meet our teacher and have a lesson in the family hotel after a short rest. On this day we will study the polyphonic song of Imereti, “Imeretian Mravaljamieri”.
Today we have an important day. The songs we have learned are to sing in the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary’s Cathedral of Gelati complex. Spiritual and calm environment, as well as the acoustics characteristic of the Church, makes the song beautiful.
From Kutaisi we will go to Racha. Racha is the mountainous region in the west Georgia.
The people living in Racha are very slow. This is what makes them different from the Georgians of the other region. If you see that they are slowly moving or lining up a long time, or slowly speaking, do not be surprised.
Today we will learn to prepare a delicious Rachian dish – Lobiani (Bean Pie). We will arrange the table with the Lobiani and, the most delicious Racha ham(Rachians are good specialists of smoked ham). Than the host, who is the singing teacher, will bring the jug of the famous local red wine Khvanchkara and we will start studying the song. The song is polyphonic typical for Racha region.
Prior to departure in Tbilisi, we will see the famous masterpiece of Georgian architecture Nikortsminda.
Its carved facades are amazing. Frescoes are also interesting. Many poets dedicated their poems to this cathedral.
Before going to Tbilisi, we will visit to the Yago Marani(wine cellar). Iago is a wonderful winemaker who produces bio-wine. His wines are sold in important restaurants of the world. We will taste several types of wine and after travel to Tbilisi.
