Tour Plan

1 Arrival and Tbilisi tour

Arrival in Tbilisi and meeting with the guide and driver. Transfer to the hotel.  After rest start the day with a visit to the Metekhi Church, which is located on the plateau overlooking the Mtkvari River. The church dates back to the 13th century and is one of the most significant religious sites in Tbilisi. Take a cable car ride up to the Narikala Fortress, which is situated on a hill overlooking the city. The fortress dates back to the 4th century and offers stunning views of Tbilisi and the surrounding area. Visit the sulfur baths, which are located in the Abanotubani neighborhood. The sulfur baths are known for their therapeutic properties and have been used for centuries to treat a variety of ailments. Take a stroll down Sharden Street, which is one of the liveliest streets in Tbilisi. The street is lined with cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops and is a great place to pick up some local handicrafts. Cross the Bridge of Peace, which is a modern pedestrian bridge that spans the Mtkvari River. The bridge offers great views of the city and is a popular spot for taking photos.

Visit the Theatrical Tower of the Marionette Theatre, which is located in the heart of Old Tbilisi. The tower is home to the Tbilisi Puppet Theatre and is a great place to catch a show or just take in the beautiful architecture.

2 Tbilisi - Jvari church - Mtskheta old capital with Svetitskhoveli cathedral - Uplistsikhe cave town- Kutaisi

Start your day early and head to Jvari Church, a UNESCO World Heritage site located on a hilltop overlooking the city of Mtskheta. It's about a 40-minute drive from Tbilisi. The church was built in the 6th century and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. After exploring Jvari Church, head to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, another UNESCO World Heritage site, which is one of the most sacred places in Georgia. It was built in the 11th century and houses the robe of Christ. Grab a quick lunch at a local restaurant in Mtskheta before continuing your journey to Uplistsikhe Cave Town. This ancient rock-hewn town is located about 1.5 hours from Mtskheta and is a must-see attraction. It was once a thriving city and dates back to the 1st millennium BC. After exploring Uplistsikhe Cave Town, head to Kutaisi, which is about a 3-hour drive from Uplistsikhe. Kutaisi is the second-largest city in Georgia.

3 Kutaisi-Okatse canyon- Mestia(Svaneti)

Depart from Kutaisi for Okatse Canyon, which is approximately a 2.5-hour drive away. You will explore the canyon and its beautiful waterfalls on a hiking trail. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as some parts of the trail can be slippery. Depart for Mestia After exploring Okatse Canyon, you will head to Mestia. The drive takes around 4-5 hours, so sit back and enjoy the scenic views of the Georgian countryside along the way. Once you arrive in Mestia, you will have time to explore the town and its surroundings. You can also take a stroll through the town and admire the traditional Svaneti architecture.

4 .Mestia-Ushguli-Mestia

Depart from Mestia for Ushguli. After a two-hour drive, you'll reach Ushguli, one of the highest continuously inhabited villages in Europe, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Take a walk around the village, visit the medieval Svaneti towers, and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Visit Lamaria Church: Visit the Lamaria Church, one of the oldest churches in Svaneti. It is located in the center of Ushguli and is known for its beautiful frescoes. Enjoy a traditional Georgian lunch at a local family in Ushguli. After lunch, start your journey back to Mestia.

5 Mestia - trekking Chalaadi forest-Koruldi alpine lakes – Mestia

Meet your guide and start the trek through Chalaadi forest. The forest is located just a few kilometers outside of Mestia and offers a beautiful and peaceful setting for trekking. The trek through the forest takes approximately 2-3 hours, depending on your pace and the amount of time you spend exploring the area. After Chalaadi drive to Koruldi lakes.

Arrive at the Koruldi alpine lakes, located at an altitude of 2850 meters above sea level. The two lakes offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains and are a popular spot for picnics and relaxation. Take some time to explore the area and enjoy the serene surroundings. Have a picnic lunch by the lake side. Drive back to Mestia. Return to your hotel for some well-deserved rest after a day of trekking and sightseeing.

Note: The trek through Chalaadi forest and Koruldi alpine lakes is moderate in difficulty, so make sure you are in good physical condition and wear appropriate hiking gear. Don't forget to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and insect repellent.

6 Mestia- Dadiani palase in Zugdidi- Martvili Canyon and boat trip- Kutaisi

Depart from your hotel in Mestia and begin the scenic drive to Zugdidi. The journey should take approximately 2 hours. Arrive at the Dadiani Palace in Zugdidi. This historic palace was once the residence of the powerful Dadiani noble family, and now serves as a museum showcasing their extensive collection of art and artifacts. Spend an hour or two exploring the palace and its grounds. Depart from Zugdidi and head to Martvili Canyon, which is approximately a 45-minute drive away. Upon arrival, take a boat trip through the canyon, which features stunning turquoise waters and towering limestone cliffs.

Continue on to Kutaisi, which is approximately a 45-minute drive from Martvili Canyon.

7 Kutaisi - Gelati monastery and 12th c academy complex - Visit to the village family near Gelati for lunch – Tbilisi

Depart from Kutaisi to Gelati Monastery and Academy Complex. Arrive at Gelati Monastery and Academy Complex and take a guided tour of the complex. Gelati Monastery was built in the 12th century and was an important center of learning in Georgia during the Middle Ages.Depart from Gelati Monastery and Academy Complex to visit a nearby village.Arrive at the village and visit a local family for lunch. You will have the opportunity to taste traditional Georgian dishes and learn more about Georgian culture. Depart from the village and head towards Tbilisi.Arrive in Tbilisi and check in to your hotel.
